Chronology
The relative harmony of the human world, the demon world, and the beast world is soon disrupted by the Overfiend, an immensely powerful demon who is reborn after 3,000 years to reshape the world to his will. It was the first animated film to receive an NC-17 rating from the MPAA. It seems that the girls who tortured Nikki were hiding in the school playroom i.e. All seven girls are brutally and inhumanly mutilated in this very room (one of them reduced to a skeleton), but the next day school is still open and the students make no mention of the incident.

How stupid is it to believe that your race rules the planet? Know now that you are not alone and that there are unseen worlds parallel to yours. These are the worlds of the Makai, a demon race. and Jujinkai, half human and half animal.
It’s called Chojin!
An ancient legend, a prophecy, predicts the appearance of a super being every three thousand years. A god above all gods, lords! Chojin appears through a person’s body and will unite the three worlds with his great power. He will create a new world, a world of peace and harmony.
His time has come!
The English-language version’s credits misspell the voice actors’ names, and many of the nicknames have sexual connotations. Bill Timoney stated that it was because the actors hated the film. Also available in the original uncut 3-episode Japanese version, which is much clearer than the NC-17 theatrical version released in the US. Edited by Chôjin densetsu 1: Chôjin tanjô hen (1987).
Urutsukidoji has a good plot
The philosophy behind it is surprisingly subtle, very deep and well thought out. Unfortunately, the entire anime is ruined by forcing the director and writers to fill the screen with ridiculous amounts of demonic sex scenes. They weren’t necessary and the only one that was even remotely necessary in this context was the scene between Akemi and Nagumo. That being said, this is a great anime and while it may not be suitable for under 18s, it’s worth watching just to say you watched it…which makes a lot more sense when you’re drunk.
