For someone who didn’t really know the story, the details of what happened really interested me
Chronology
During the 1972 Munich Olympics, an American sports broadcasting crew is forced to cover the hosting crisis involving Israeli athletes. All believable performances, comedy in all the right places, and a pace and length that doesn’t leave you looking for the exit until the credits roll.
They did a solid job of not telegraphing plot points
Some may find the lack of scenery changes tiresome, but I think it worked in this case. I think they wanted you to feel like the control room is your world, and feel what they did on that eventful day.
Making you think, without preaching
They did a good job of touching on the political and emotional elements. The mix of footage from the event itself, including broadcast footage, definitely draws you more into the experience.
A nice touch
While this isn’t a film I really intend to watch over and over again, it’s a very well-made piece that I would recommend to friends who enjoy films like this.
