Nothing special, in fact most of the positive reviews are exaggerated. The characters, for the most part, except Andy, are completely weak and devoid of real character.
As a huge fan of the originals, I was disappointed
I honestly had no emotional attachment to most of the characters and most of them were annoying and rude. The film was vulgar at times, seemed to take forever to start, and relied heavily on Alien franchise clichés to add real color to the story and script. The special effects were good enough and the design of the original xenomorph was great, but for some reason the Alien and the face offs from Aliens look worse in this movie. Don’t get too worked up about the current hype surrounding Romulus, it’s not a terrible movie, but it’s not great either.
